We're working with a welcoming mainstream primary school looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient and confident supporting children who may present with behaviours that challenge. The school is looking for someone who can build a trusting relationship, promote positive behaviour and help the pupil access learning throughout the school day.
Your role will include:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with SEMH needs.
Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation.
Building a consistent, trusting relationship that helps the pupil feel safe and engaged.
Supporting learning within the classroom and adapting activities where needed.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider pastoral team.
Encouraging confidence, independence and social development.
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting children with SEMH and/or behavioural needs.
Is calm, resilient and confident in managing behaviour positively.
Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
Is patient, empathetic and committed to helping children succeed.
Has experience in a primary school or similar educational setting (desirable).
