Adecco in partnership with Bentley Motors is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to support the development of innovative next-generation vehicle features as part of a high-profile programme within the company's Research & Development division. Based in Crewe with hybrid working available, this role offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking technology that will redefine the in-vehicle health and wellbeing experience for luxury automotive customers.

About the Role

As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, development, testing and validation of advanced electronic systems focused on occupant health and wellbeing.

Working within Bentley's Electrical & Electronic Infrastructure team, you'll collaborate with software engineers, suppliers and Volkswagen Group counterparts to deliver innovative features from concept through to production. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a brand-new capability being developed specifically for Bentley vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver advanced systems and features.
  • Support system development throughout the full product life cycle, from concept and requirements through to validation, release and ongoing support.
  • Perform system testing, fault finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis.
  • Define and manage system and software requirements.
  • Work closely with software engineers, suppliers and VW Group stakeholders.
  • Support feature maturity, validation activities and vehicle integration.
  • Participate in technical reviews, workshops and supplier meetings in the UK and Europe.
  • Take ownership of engineering tasks, milestones and technical deliverables.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Degree-level qualification (ideally Master's) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience in systems engineering, software-integrated products or vehicle electronics.
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Knowledge of automotive electronic hardware, software and vehicle systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Experience with Vector tools including CANoe, CAN and BAP development.
  • Familiarity with Volkswagen Group diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge or interest in health, wellbeing or biomedical technologies.
  • German language skills.
