The successful candidate will be passionate about science, committed to improving teaching and learning, have good or outstanding teaching, management and interpersonal skills, commitment to leading continuous improvement, good interpersonal and presentational skills, be forward thinking, inspirational, receptive to change and able to work under pressure.
In order to be considered, you will require qualified teacher status or an equivalent qualification, relevant specialist qualifications and experience (for example a science-related degree), ability to deliver high-quality science lessons covering a range of modules and concepts, both theoretical and practical, understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements for science, enthusiasm and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning in preparation for examinations.
In return, you'll be an important part of a dedicated team with access to opportunities for professional growth and the ability to have a core impact on student's academic success in a key topic. You'll be working in a large and vibrant schools which offers its students a broad curriculum and a wealth of enrichment activities.
The school celebrates students from all backgrounds, religions, and abilities. This is highlighted by their centre for visually impaired students, which empowers blind and partially sighted students to access a mainstream curriculum and socialise in a friendly and safe environment with their peers. Students from this school will go on to thrive in a range of destinations: from apprenticeships with local businesses to degrees at Russell Group Universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Their careers provision, including 'Future Friday' talks from alumni, is outstanding.
