Assistant Quantity Surveyor
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career within the construction industry while supporting the successful delivery of projects.
The successful candidate will assist with cost management, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reporting across a range of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and valuations.
Support the management and monitoring of project costs.
Help prepare and process subcontractor packages and payments.
Assist with procurement activities and supplier negotiations.
Review and assess subcontractor applications and variations.
Support the preparation of monthly cost reports and forecasts.
Maintain accurate project records and commercial documentation.
Attend site visits and project meetings as required.
Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
Requirements
Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
Previous experience in a construction, quantity surveying, or commercial support role desirable.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
