The Role

As Head of DCO Strategy, you will be responsible for setting and delivering the project’s comprehensive consents strategy. You will oversee the entire process of obtaining necessary approvals — from DCO submission to discharge of requirements and environmental licences — ensuring strict adherence to regulatory frameworks and project timelines. Your daily activities will include leading and managing the consents and town planning teams, building strategic relationships with external authorities, and guiding the technical components of the DCO application.

You will also be responsible for coordinating with internal teams and external consultants, managing the preparation and submission of consent applications, and monitoring compliance with all consent conditions. A key part of your role will involve providing leadership, coaching, and development for your team, actively fostering a culture of excellence and safety.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

Proven experience in managing consent processes within large-scale infrastructure projects, with an expert understanding of the DCO process
Extensive knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements relating to town and country planning
Strong project management and organisational skills
A problem solver with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
