Simply Education are recruiting Teaching Assistants for an exciting new SEND school opening in January 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a brand-new setting from the very beginning and play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive and inspiring environment for children and young people.

This new specialist school will support pupils aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a focus on creating a safe, nurturing and ambitious learning environment, the school's aim is to help every pupil develop, achieve and reach their full potential.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team, supporting pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. Working closely with the Class Teacher and wider staff team, you will help create a calm, supportive and engaging environment where every child feels valued and encouraged.

Your role will include:

Supporting pupils with classroom activities and helping them develop new skills.
Reinforcing learning and helping children engage with their education.
Promoting positive behaviour by understanding and responding to individual needs.
Supporting pupils with personal care, including hygiene, dressing and eating where required.
Encouraging confidence, independence and personal development.
Providing feedback on pupils' progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
Helping to prepare resources and support lesson planning and activities.
Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for every pupil.Please see the link at the bottom of the page for the full job description.

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference in children's lives.

You will ideally have:

Essential Qualifications

GCSE Maths and English (minimum Functional Skills Level 2).
Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or a willingness to work towards this qualification).

Essential Skills and Experience

A commitment to putting children first and recognising that every child is unique.
The ability to encourage independence and promote positive behaviour.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good ICT skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A patient, supportive and nurturing approach.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience working within a SEND setting.
An understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.Why Apply?
