The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially minded Strategic Business Development Lead to join an innovative technology organisation. This is a unique role combining strategic business development, stakeholder engagement, project leadership and marketing, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, driving growth and turning ideas into successful outcomes.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will help identify and develop new business opportunities, manage strategic projects and strengthen relationships across government, education, commercial and technical sectors. You'll also play a key role in shaping marketing initiatives, supporting business strategy and delivering projects that improve operational efficiency through emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, develop and secure new strategic business opportunities.

Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across government, education, commercial and technical organisations.

Develop account plans and growth strategies to achieve business objectives.

Lead strategic discussions and convert ideas into clear, actionable plans.

Manage strategic projects, timelines and stakeholder communications.

Coordinate product demonstrations, presentations, meetings and industry events.

Support the development and delivery of marketing campaigns, communications and events.

Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.

Track pipeline activity, project progress and business performance, providing regular reports to senior leadership.

Collaborate across multiple departments to ensure business priorities are delivered effectively.

We're looking for someone who is:

Experienced in business development, strategic partnerships or commercial relationship management.

Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.

A confident communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills.

Commercially aware with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experienced in project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a wider team.

Desirable Experience

Degree or equivalent experience in a STEM subject such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics.

Experience within technology, software, engineering, education or scientific sectors.

Understanding of digital technologies, software development or AI.

Experience delivering strategic marketing initiatives.

Leadership or mentoring experience.

Knowledge of CRM systems and project management tools.
