Overview
A growing organisation is looking for an experienced PHP Developer to join their internal technology team, supporting the development and enhancement of business-critical CRM applications.

Working within a cross-functional Scrum team, this role will deliver new functionality, improve existing systems, and support the continued evolution of applications to meet changing business needs.

This is an opportunity for a skilled PHP Developer to work in a collaborative Agile environment, delivering high-quality software solutions alongside developers, QA, Business Analysts, and DevOps teams.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Back End systems using PHP (Laravel/CakePHP).
  • Deliver features end-to-end, including development, testing, and deployment.
  • Enhance existing applications, including Legacy CakePHP systems.
  • Build and maintain APIs and Back End services.
  • Write clean, maintainable code following development standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
  • Support system design, integrations, and technical improvements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with wider technology teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and reduce technical debt.
Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years' commercial experience in PHP development.
  • Strong experience with PHP 7.4 (CakePHP) and PHP 8+ (Laravel/Symfony).
  • Experience building Back End systems and APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL, including queries and performance optimisation.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS.
  • Experience with Git, branching workflows, and pull requests.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Linux/WSL environments.
  • Experience with unit testing and automated testing practices.
  • Understanding of software design principles and coding standards.
  • Exposure to Vue.js/Nuxt, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, messaging technologies, or microservices is beneficial.
