Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a well-established and growing housebuilder? Our client, a leading residential developer with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality homes across South Wales, is seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis in Cardiff.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the commercial management of multiple residential developments while working for a business that values career progression, collaboration, and professional development.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of residential housing developments from inception through to final account. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Site Teams, and Subcontractors, you will ensure projects are delivered on budget while maintaining high standards of quality and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Managing project costs across multiple residential developments.
Preparing and reviewing subcontractor packages, procurement, and valuations.
Negotiating subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
Monitoring project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
Producing accurate cost reports and commercial updates.
Identifying commercial risks and implementing cost-saving opportunities.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Supporting the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
About You
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the housebuilding or residential construction sector.
Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
Full UK driving licence.
