Are you an experienced Site Engineer with a background in highways and infrastructure projects, looking to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering major National Highways schemes?
We have an exciting opportunity with our client, a highly respected civil engineering contractor, who is looking to recruit an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of highways projects across the South. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a variety of infrastructure works including carriageway construction, drainage, surfacing, waterproofing, structures and associated highways improvements.
The ideal candidate will have previous setting out experience on highways or infrastructure projects, a strong understanding of quality assurance processes and specifications, and be confident working independently while supporting the successful delivery of projects.
Key responsibilities:
Carry out setting out using Total Stations, GPS equipment and traditional surveying methods.
Read and interpret construction drawings and undertake basic material take-offs.
Raise technical queries with designers and client representatives where required.
Carry out inspections and testing to ensure works comply with project specifications and quality standards.
Maintain accurate site records and as-built information.
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with ITPs, quality assurance procedures and health & safety requirements.
Assist with programme delivery and coordinate with site teams and subcontractors.
Monitor progress on site and identify any engineering or construction issues.
Support the commercial team by understanding project costs and the value of works delivered.Required Skills:
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum of two years' setting out experience on highways or civil engineering projects.
Previous experience working for a main contractor on infrastructure schemes.
Valid CSCS Card.
SSSTS.
First Aid at Work.
NRSWA qualification.
CAT & Genny certification.
Good understanding of ITPs, quality assurance processes and specification documents.
Experience using Total Stations, GPS equipment and surveying software.
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
Flexibility to work both day and night shifts as project requirements dictate.What's on offer:
