Location: Basildon (projects across London & Home Counties)
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum

Our client is a well-established M&E contractor based in Basildon, delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical services across public sector buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and other institutional projects. Role Overview
The company is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, supporting project delivery, and ensuring profitability across a diverse portfolio of public sector projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for projects up to £5m in value
Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to produce costings
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
Work closely with the pre-construction and project teams to ensure smooth handover of successful bids
Identify value engineering opportunities and assess project risks
Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations, and pricing trends
Candidate Profile
Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the M&E or building services sector
Strong knowledge of electrical systems in public sector environments (schools, healthcare, government buildings)
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Team player with the ability to work independently when required
