Working hours: Full-Time / 37.5hrs per week
Annual Salary: Competitive (DOE)
Our award-winning client based in Letchworth are currently looking for a highly experienced Hydraulic Press Setter/Operator to join their team on a Permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high quality precision sheet metal components for a variety of industries.
Main duties as a Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator:
Set up and operate hydraulic presses (50-800 tonnes).
Install and change tooling, dies, and press settings.
Produce high-quality sheet metal components to specification.
Read and work from engineering drawings and work instructions.
Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks.
Work with materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
Support tooling trials and new product introductions.
Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What's needed in this role:
Proven experience setting and operating hydraulic or mechanical presses.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience with tooling and die changeovers.
Knowledge of draw tools and wipe-form tooling.
Skilled in carrying out quality inspections and using measuring equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication and teamworking skills.
Own tools and toolbox.
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties.
