As the Reliability Engineer / DFMEA Specialist, you will take ownership of the Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) process, ensuring robust reliability practices are embedded throughout the design lifecycle of critical propulsion and electrical systems.

You must hold current security clearance

Key Responsibilities

Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DFMEA, taking ownership of the structure, quality, and execution of the DFMEA using ReliaSoft Xfmea/RCM++.
Facilitate technical DFMEA workshops with Lead Design Engineers, capturing complex engineering knowledge and translating it into structured failure modes, effects, and mitigation strategies.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve DFMEA databases, ensuring they are accurate, auditable, and aligned with engineering best practice.
Challenge design assumptions and work collaboratively with engineering teams to identify opportunities for improved reliability and reduced risk.
Monitor programme progress through reliability metrics and KPIs, producing clear reports and presenting updates to project stakeholders and naval customers.
Promote reliability engineering best practice across multidisciplinary project teams.About You

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Strong technical understanding of power generation, electrical systems, and propulsion engineering principles.
Proven experience using ReliaSoft Xfmea/RCM++ to develop and manage DFMEA and reliability analyses.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage senior engineers and convert technical discussions into structured, actionable outputs.
Highly organised, process-driven, and committed to delivering accurate, high-quality documentation and reporting.
Collaborative approach with experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Previous experience within the maritime, defence, aerospace, or other highly regulated engineering environments would be advantageous
