Shift Operator / Technician
Location: Girvan, Ayrshire
Our client are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Shift Operator/Technician to join our operations team in Carrick. This role plays a key part in ensuring daily input and output targets are achieved, with a strong focus on safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
You will be working within a 24/7 shift pattern 365 - (159 shifts per year), including both day and night shifts (12 hours each: 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am).
Key Responsibilities
* Operate plant and processes to achieve maximum efficiency and output.
* Ensure strict compliance with operational standards, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Identify and report hazards (people and plant), ensuring a safe working environment.
* Carry out planned inspections, testing, and first-line maintenance tasks.
* Accurately complete operational logs, compliance records, and financial data.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of procedures and risk assessments.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualifications:
* Minimum NC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
* Ideally HND/HNC/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar Engineering.
* Experience / Training:
Ideally with experience or training in one or more of the following:
* Telehandler/Forklift operation
* IOSH Managing Safely
* IPAF 3A/3B
* ECITB Safety Passport
* Hydraulic Torque & Tension (Hi-Force/ECITB)
* Waste Management
* Harness Training
* Pressure Testing
* JCB 535S
* Other Requirements:
* Full UK driving licence (essential, due to site location and use of site vehicles).
* Flexibility to work both day and night shifts
