Are you a Health and Safety Advisor who enjoys being out on site, building relationships with operational teams and making a real difference to health and safety performance?

Principal People are working with a leading infrastructure contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor to support a long-term water framework across the Western Home Counties. This is a site-focused role supporting capital delivery projects including mains replacement, rehabilitation, new connections and civil engineering works.

You'll spend the majority of your week out on site, coaching teams, carrying out inspections and audits, and working closely with Project Managers to improve standards and drive a positive safety culture. With the strategic and administrative support provided by Senior Advisors, this role allows you to focus on what you do best - supporting operational teams where it matters most.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a secure pipeline of work, genuine career progression and a supportive health and safety team.

What's in it for you?

Salary up to £55,000
Company Car or £5,000 Car Allowance
Annual discretionary bonus
Private Healthcare
Matched Pension Contribution
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Hybrid working with approximately one day per week from home
Long-term secured work across a major UK water framework
Ongoing development and progression opportunities within a growing infrastructure business
What you'll be doing

Carrying out site inspections, audits and behavioural safety conversations across multiple projects
Providing practical health and safety advice to operational teams and Project Managers
Supporting compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and company management systems
Coaching site teams to continually improve health and safety performance
Delivering toolbox talks, briefings and site inductions
Supporting incident investigations and identifying corrective actions
Promoting a proactive and positive safety culture across the business
Building strong working relationships with employees, subcontractors and stakeholders
What they're looking for

NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
Experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities
A practical and approachable health and safety professional who enjoys working closely with site teams
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Thames Valley region
This role would suit someone who enjoys being visible on site, influencing people through coaching rather than policing, and wants to build a long-term career within one of the UK's most established infrastructure contractors.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact while working on essential infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today
