Maintenance Engineer

Location: Winsford
Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:00pm
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x on Fridays

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation in Winsford. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer to join a skilled maintenance team, supporting the reliability and performance of modern production and packaging equipment.

The role will suit an engineer with an 80/20 mechanical bias who is confident working on automated machinery and enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance, and keeping production running efficiently.

You will join a small maintenance team of two engineers, where you will be expected to make an immediate impact and play a key role in maintaining and improving site equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults quickly to minimise downtime.
Maintain and repair:
Chains, belts, bearings, and mechanical drive systems
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Filling machines and production equipment
Conveyors and packaging machinery
Support continuous improvement activities and machinery reliability projects.
Complete breakdown response and fault finding on automated manufacturing equipment.
Work safely in line with company procedures and engineering standards.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a time-served Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical background and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential experience:

NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Strong mechanical maintenance skills.
Experience within FMCG, pharmaceutical, food, packaging, or similar manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with conveyors, fillers, packaging machinery, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
