Methods are looking for an experienced DV cleared Architect - supporting data modelling looking at data transfer ensuring data is assured and reliable, tie in with NCSC standards.

Daily rate: £600 inside IR35

Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Location: hybrid; 3days/w onsite in London or Manchester

*Must be DV cleared*

The Data Architect will have Expert knowledge of logical and physical data models, with the ability to analyse and document existing data structures and establish how to map them to a target data model. You will have experience of various relational and NoSQL databases and significant knowledge and experience of how to plan and execute complex data migrations.

Previous experience of working across the full data life cycle for all components of the system is expected. This will include but is not limited to understanding and documenting how data is collected, transformed, distributed and consumed. The ability to produce data models, dictionaries and visualisations will be key to gaining stakeholder buy in and driving data quality.

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture by designing and implementing data ingestion solutions on AWS using AWS native services (such as GLUE, Lambda) or using data management technologies (such as Talend or Informatica)
  • Design and optimize data models on AWS Cloud using AWS data stores such as Redshift, DynamoDB, RDS, S3
  • Design operations architecture and conduct performance engineering for large scale data lakes in production environment
  • Participate in client design workshops and provide tradeoffs and recommendations towards building solutions.
  • Mentor other engineers in coding best practices and problem solving

The ideal profile

  • Detailed working knowledge of Business Intelligence, Data warehousing, Data modelling and dealing with big data
  • Knowledge of star schema structure & design, understanding of Kimball & Inmon data warehouse design
  • Working experience in a cloud native environment in one of the 3 major public clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure), at least 5 year experience on AWS is preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of Big Data Architectures, cloud and on premise
  • AWS main Storage Service: S3, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB
  • AWS main Compute Service: EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS
  • Experience in building and deliver proofs-of-concept, in order to address specific business needs, using the most appropriate techniques, data sources and technologies
  • Working experience in migrating workloads from on premise to cloud environment
  • Experience in monitoring distributed infrastructure, using AWS tools or open source ones
  • Experience in monitoring distributed infrastructure, using AWS tools or open source ones such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack
