Senior Java Integration Architect/Lead Developer - Netherlands

Global Enterprise Partners is supporting a large public-sector organization in the search for an experienced Senior Java Integration Architect/Lead Developer.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on architect who combines technical leadership with software development. You will help shape and develop an enterprise-wide integration platform that enables the scalable, reliable, and secure exchange of data and events across teams and applications.

As the Senior Java Integration Architect/Lead Developer, you will work in a DevOps environment, designing integration solutions while actively developing Java-based services, frameworks, and microservices. You will also support development teams in adopting integration standards and best practices.

• Design and evolve a scalable integration architecture.
• Develop Java microservices and reusable integration components.
• Design event-driven solutions using Kafka and stream processing.
• Define API, integration, and messaging standards.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture principles.
• Guide and support development teams on integration initiatives.
• Ensure security, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and automated deployments.

• 8+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years with Java.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software, Solution, or Integration Architect.
• Strong experience with Kafka, event-driven architecture, and microservices.
• Experience with stream processing and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Avro, REST APIs, and asynchronous messaging.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, and Linux environments.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.
• Good command of the Dutch language.
