SEN / 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Stoke-on-Trent & North Staffordshire – September 2026
Vision for Education are seeking caring and dedicated SEN / 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stone, and the Staffordshire Moorlands. If you have experience supporting children with additional needs and are passionate about helping every child reach their potential, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As an SEN / 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with additional needs on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised support plans.
Help pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, speech and language needs, and EHCP-funded support.
Promote engagement, independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
Provide personal or intimate care where required (not all roles require this).
This role offers flexibility, with day-to-day, short-term, and long-term opportunities available on both full-time and part-time bases from September 2026.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of SEN / 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
Have experience supporting children with additional needs in a school, nursery, care, or similar setting.
Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or demonstrate strong relevant experience.
Be patient, resilient, and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Be comfortable supporting personal or intimate care where required.
Possess a DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
Have recent, referenceable experience working with children.
