Building Services Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Salary: £43,000 per annum
We are looking for an experienced Building Services Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join our facilities management team, supporting a prestigious commercial office environment. This is a highly customer-facing role, requiring excellent communication skills, a professional appearance, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical building services.
*
Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
*
Maintain critical building systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
*
Complete remedial works and statutory compliance tasks.
*
Supervise specialist subcontractors where required.
*
Liaise with the helpdesk and on-site facilities team to ensure SLA and KPI targets are achieved.
*
Use handheld devices and laptops to manage maintenance tasks and update records.
*
Complete statutory inspections, testing and compliance documentation.
*
Support audits and ensure all health & safety procedures are followed.
*
Identify and report building or maintenance issues affecting business operations.
*
Assist with minor project work and provide quotations for additional works.
*
Build strong relationships with clients and respond professionally to customer queries and complaints.
*
Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota as required (additional remuneration available).
About You
*
Recognised electrical qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).
*
Minimum 17th Edition qualification (18th Edition preferred).
*
At least 3 years' experience within building services or facilities maintenance.
*
Apprenticeship background desirable.
*
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical building services.
*
Good knowledge of statutory compliance and health & safety regulations.
*
Comfortable using handheld technology, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
*
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
*
Well organised, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
*
Professional, presentable and confident working within a corporate office environment.
*
Physically able to work at height, access plant rooms and undertake manual maintenance activities.
Working Hours
* 40 hours per week on a flexible basis between 7:00am and 7:00pm (chose your hours within these times)
