The Job You’ll Do;
* Responsible for designing mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks.
* Processing engineering changes (ECR’s) and Bill of material updates (BOM).
* Supporting technical validations of designs with the wider engineering team.
* Introducing product improvements
* R&D to drive innovations and product improvements.
* Design, develop and maintain 3D models and modifications to existing. designs to keep in line with current legislation, continuous improvement, and cost reduction exercises.
* Support New Product Introduction and Engineering Change Management.
* Apply DFM techniques and support manufacturing products.
* Ensuring completion of final design documentation.
* Manage CAD data within the SolidWorks environment.
* Collaborate with other manufacturing support functions such as Quality, Production, Procurement and Product support.
About You;
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a Mechanical engineer.
* PC literate and at ease with MS Office products.
* Experience of 3D design (SolidWorks)
* Experience of material selection for mechanical structures.
* Experience of drawings including revisions and numbering systems.
* Experience of using DFM and Lean Manufacturing.
* Experience with FEA analysis (steel).
* Experience of working with electrical power and drive systems.
* Experience of designing hydraulic systems.
* Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics.
* Basic level of electrical distribution and electrical system design knowledge.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
