PK Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Newcastle from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated HLTA who enjoys supporting children’s learning, building positive relationships, and making a real difference in the classroom.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils’ progress, deliver engaging learning activities, and provide support across a range of year groups. You will be confident working independently, leading small group sessions, and stepping into the classroom when required.
Job Responsibilities:
Support teaching and learning across the primary age range
Deliver planned lessons and learning activities to individuals and small groups
Cover classes and lead lessons in the absence of the class teacher when required
Support pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs
Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support pupil progress
Provide feedback on pupil learning and achievement
Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations
Job Requirements:
Previous experience working as an HLTA desirable
HLTA qualification or relevant experience delivering learning activities independently
Experience working within a primary school setting
Strong understanding of child development and effective learning strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A passion for supporting children’s education and development
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to complete the required checks)
Right to work in the UK
