Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to support the delivery of railway infrastructure projects across the UK. The role involves leading the design, assessment and maintenance of bridge and civil structures, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and assessment of rail bridges and associated structures.
Produce and review calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings.
Undertake structural inspections, assessments and refurbishment studies.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
Support project delivery, including programme, budget and quality requirements.
Attend client, design and stakeholder meetings as required.
Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards, Eurocodes, CDM Regulations and relevant industry requirements.
Provide technical support during construction and site activities.
Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership.
Proven experience in bridge engineering within the rail sector.
Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and rail project delivery.
Experience in the design and assessment of steel, concrete and masonry structures.
Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
Design CRE experience or accreditation.
PTS certification.
