IT Support Operations Manager

Newbury, Berkshire (Hybrid Working)
£48,000 - £52,000 + Bonus + Excellent Training & Development

Are you an experienced IT professional looking to take the next step into a hands-on management role with a business that genuinely invests in its people?

We're recruiting for an IT Support Operations Manager to join a well-established and growing organisation based in Newbury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise and previous team leadership or supervisory experience who enjoys combining people management with technical project delivery.

The Role

As IT Support Operations Manager, you'll lead a small Service Desk team, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality IT support service across the business. Alongside managing day-to-day support operations, you'll play a key role in delivering IT projects, driving continuous improvement, and acting as the senior technical escalation point for more complex issues.

This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to influence IT service delivery while remaining technically involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor and develop a small Service Desk team.
  • Oversee daily IT support operations, ensuring excellent customer service and SLA performance.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex desktop and infrastructure issues.
  • Deliver and support a range of IT projects and technology implementations.
  • Maintain and improve Microsoft-based infrastructure and end-user computing environments.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and deliver effective IT solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and user experience.

About You

We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused IT professional with a blend of technical expertise and leadership experience. You may already be an IT Support Manager or an experienced Team Leader or Supervisor ready to step into your first management role.

You'll ideally have experience with:

  • Microsoft 365
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Microsoft desktop operating systems and applications
  • IT Service Desk or End User Support environments
  • Technical troubleshooting and issue escalation
  • Leading or supervising an IT support team
  • Delivering IT projects or technical implementations

Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and a genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service are essential.

What's on Offer?

  • Salary of £48,000 - £52,000
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Hybrid working
  • Excellent training and ongoing professional development
  • Genuine career progression opportunities
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment

If you're looking for a role that combines technical leadership, people management and project delivery within a business that values development and internal progression, we'd love to hear from you.
