SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Trafford)

Trafford | September Start | Full-Time | Long-Term

Are you passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of children with additional needs?

Cover People are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Trafford that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.

This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and learning difficulties, helping them to thrive both academically and socially. Similar Trafford SEN roles commonly involve supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs in long-term, term-time positions.

The Role

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions.
Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence.
Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning.
Build strong, positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
Help create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting.
A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

What We Offer

Competitive daily pay.
A long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent.
Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.
Access to CPD and professional development.
The opportunity to make a lasting impact in a supportive primary school.
If you're ready to begin a rewarding new role this September and want to help every child achieve their full potential, we'd love to hear from you.
