An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established precision engineering business manufacturing high-precision, safety-critical components.
Working within the Quality team, you will be responsible for inspecting precision-engineered components, ensuring they meet customer specifications and quality standards before release to production or the customer.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision-engineered components.
Programming and operating CMM equipment as part of the inspection process.
Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.
Producing and reviewing inspection reports and First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
Supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions relating to non-conforming products.
Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to maintain quality standards.
Ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
Maintaining calibration records and measurement traceability.
Supporting internal and external audits and continuous improvement activities. About You
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within precision engineering, machining or aerospace.
Experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
A good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
Experience completing First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
Competence using inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges and shadowgraphs.
Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Desirable
Engineering or Quality qualification or apprenticeship.
Experience within a machining or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of SPC, MSA and continuous improvement techniques.
Experience of NADCAP, ISIR, FAI or PPAP. Salary & Benefits
£33,000 - £36,000 per annum, depending on experience.
