About the role
We're currently recruiting for an experienced Drainage Foreman to join a major highways project.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale infrastructure scheme, overseeing drainage operations while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Drainage Foreman Key Responsibilities
* Supervising drainage gangs and coordinating daily site activities.
* Overseeing the installation of surface water and foul water drainage systems.
* Managing pipe laying, manholes, catch pits, chambers, culverts, and associated drainage works.
* Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, health & safety requirements, and programme deadlines.
* Coordinating plant, labour, and materials to maintain productivity.
* Liaising with Site Engineers, Site Agents, subcontractors, and the wider project team.
* Conducting site briefings, toolbox talks, and ensuring a safe working environment.
* Maintaining quality standards and resolving on-site issues as they arise.
Drainage Foreman Experience
* Proven experience as a Drainage Foreman on highways or major civil engineering projects.
* Strong knowledge of highway drainage systems and installation methods.
* Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors.
* A solid understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings and drainage specifications.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Drainage Foreman Qualifications needed
* SSSTS or SMSTS.
* CSCS Card.
* First Aid at Work (desirable).
* Full UK Driving Licence
