Empowering Learning is proud to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Tamworth to recruit an experienced and dedicated SENDCo for a September start. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity.

The school has a clear vision for SEND provision, with inclusion embedded across all departments. Staff work collaboratively to ensure that students with additional needs are supported both academically and pastorally, enabling them to thrive within mainstream education.
The Role - SENDCo
The successful candidate will take strategic responsibility for the leadership, development, and coordination of SEND provision across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the SEND provision across KS3 and KS4
Oversee and review EHCPs, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance
Coordinate provision mapping and targeted interventions
Work closely with teaching staff to ensure effective differentiation and inclusive classroom practice
Liaise with parents, carers, governors, and external agencies
Line manage SEND support staff and oversee deployment of Teaching Assistants
Monitor and track progress of students with SEND, implementing strategies to close attainment gaps
Contribute to whole-school inclusion strategy and safeguarding procedures
Ensure the school meets all statutory requirements under the SEND Code of Practice
The Successful Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant leadership experience in SEND
Hold the National Award for SEND Coordination (or be working towards it) - desirable
Have recent secondary school SENDCo or senior SEND leadership experience
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory frameworks
Have proven experience managing EHCP processes and annual reviews
Show strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Be committed to inclusive education and raising outcomes for vulnerable learners
