About the Role

Veritas Education is pleased to be working with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic English Teacher for a full-time, long-term position commencing in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher to join a thriving English department where creativity, academic achievement, and a love of literature are actively encouraged. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement
Monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback and support
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills
Is passionate about raising attainment and inspiring a love of reading and writing
Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
ECTs are encouraged to apply
