Assistant Project Manager - Shape the future of clean energy on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.

Introduction

Are you looking to build your project management career on a nationally important programme that will deliver low-carbon power for generations? This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled team supporting the delivery of a landmark nuclear energy project, where you'll gain exposure to complex engineering, construction and stakeholder environments while developing your career in a supportive and collaborative setting.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll play a key role in ensuring project activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Project Manager in delivering project and contract scope across key work packages.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Assist with planning, scheduling and project controls activities.

Support document control and management system processes.

Monitor compliance with approved project procedures and standards.

Help develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Manage the delivery of project documentation under supervision.

Contribute to programme planning and technical workstream schedules.

Maintain accurate and auditable records of project decisions.

Support the delivery of projects against safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.

Ability to build relationships and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience supporting project delivery within a technical or engineering environment.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.

High attention to detail and organisational skills.

Confidence interacting with senior managers and project stakeholders.

Budget awareness, forecasting or cost-tracking experience is advantageous.

Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
