Trainee Technician Fitter
Location: Swadlincote
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Duration: Minimum 6-month contract
Salary: £26,000 - £27,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Kick-start your engineering career! Our client is looking for a motivated Trainee Technician Fitter to join their Engineering Division, working across both the workshop and customer sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded and eager to develop a long-term career in engineering.
You'll receive hands-on training and mentoring from experienced engineers, learning specialist inspection, maintenance and fitting techniques while building valuable industry skills.
The Role
As a Trainee Technician Fitter, you'll work alongside senior engineers to inspect, repair and maintain industrial equipment. This is a practical, hands-on position designed for someone looking to develop their engineering skills and build a long-term career.
Full training will be provided, including manufacturer courses and ongoing mentoring.

What We're Looking For
We're interested in candidates who:

Have a genuine interest in mechanical engineering.
Enjoy working on cars, motorbikes, machinery or DIY projects.
Are confident using basic hand tools such as spanners, sockets and torque wrenches.
Are eager to learn, ask questions and take on new skills.
Can follow instructions and respond positively to feedback.
Are comfortable working in a busy workshop and industrial site environment.
Have a strong work ethic and enjoy practical, physical work.Experience
Previous experience in a hands-on mechanical or industrial environment is highly desirable, including:

Garages or vehicle maintenance
Manufacturing or factory environments
Construction
Warehousing
Mechanical assembly or fitting
Any other practical engineering or technical roleSpecialist training on bulk handling equipment, magnetic separators and vibratory feeders will be provided.

Qualifications
Essential:

GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in Maths, English and Science.Desirable:

Level 1 or Level 2 City & Guilds or BTEC in Engineering or Performing Engineering Operations.
Full UK Driving Licence or currently working towards one.Salary & Benefits
