Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of an NHS client for experienced, ACC accredited coders to support a busy team in a fully remote role. This position offers flexible home working while contributing directly to patient data quality, national reporting and Trust funding.
Working as a Remote NHS Clinical Coder, you will play a key role in ensuring clinical information is translated into accurate national coding standards, helping shape how care is measured and funded across the Trust.
The role As a Remote NHS Clinical Coder, your responsibilities will include:
• Translating complex patient records into ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes in line with national standards
• Reviewing clinical documentation thoroughly and applying sound judgement where clarity is needed
• Submitting coded data accurately and within required deadlines
• Supporting correct HRG allocation to inform Trust income through the NHS Payment Scheme
• Liaising with clinicians and colleagues to resolve coding queries professionally
• Managing your own caseload independently while maintaining productivity and accuracy
Skills and experience To be considered for this Remote NHS Clinical Coder role, you should have:
• ACC accreditation (National Clinical Coding Qualification) which is essential
• Previous experience working as a clinical coder within an NHS Trust
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, OPCS-4 and National Clinical Coding Standards
• Solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
• Confidence using PAS systems and Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
