Maintenance Engineer
Permanent | Days & Afters | £42,000 - £43,000
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy engineering team, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs to ensure machinery and equipment remain fully operational.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, with a focus on minimising downtime and driving continuous improvements across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
* Service, repair and maintain CNC lathes, milling machines and associated equipment.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
* Minimise machine downtime and maximise production efficiency.
* Support continuous improvement and shop floor improvement projects.
* Assist with general facilities maintenance when required.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
* Proven maintenance experience within a CNC manufacturing environment.
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability.
* Experience working with:
* Pneumatics and hydraulics.
* Gearboxes, pumps and motors.
* Three-phase electrical systems.
* Control panels, fault finding and repairs.
* Compressors and associated equipment.
* Welding and fabrication skills.
* Facilities maintenance experience.
* Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
Qualifications
* Time-served and qualified Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
* IPAF and Forklift licences are advantageous.
* IEE Regulations qualification would be beneficial.
* Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazak/Mazatrol or Haas controls would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of PLCs, automation and control systems would be an advantage.
