Quantity Surveyor

Ambitious specialist subcontractor

Perm or Freelance considered

Opportunity

This Quantity Surveyor opportunity is not your standard hire. A growing specialist subcontractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor who wants more ownership, more visibility and the chance to grow into a key commercial figure within the business.

This role is ideal for a younger Quantity Surveyor with around five years’ experience who is already confident producing CVRs and wants to take the next step. The business is keen to back talent and give a proactive Quantity Surveyor the platform to develop into a more client-facing commercial role.

You will not be sitting in the background. This Quantity Surveyor position offers real exposure to projects, clients and senior decision-makers. The company’s clients buy into individuals, so they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with personality, confidence and the ability to build strong working relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who is ambitious, commercially aware and wants to become more than just another number in a larger organisation.

Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing CVRs, supporting project performance and maintaining commercial control across multiple projects. The successful Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of gathering information, working closely with project teams and ensuring commercial reporting is accurate and proactive.

You will support valuations, variations, cost tracking and subcontractor management, while also building relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. This Quantity Surveyor role will see you gradually become more client-facing as you develop within the business.

The ideal Quantity Surveyor will be proactive, comfortable asking questions and confident in driving commercial information rather than waiting for it. You will work closely with leadership, giving you exposure to how the business operates commercially and strategically.

What’s in it for the candidate

This is a strong opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to accelerate their career. You will be trusted with responsibility, supported by experienced leadership and given the chance to grow into a broader commercial position.

The salary is competitive at £50,000 - £60,000, with the opportunity to progress quickly based on performance. You will gain exposure to clients, develop your commercial skillset and become a key part of a growing subcontractor.

This role is ideal for a proactive Quantity Surveyor who wants more than a traditional QS role and is ready to step into a position with real influence and long-term progression.

Application Process: Must always include the following text: “If you’re ready to bring your experience in [field] to a forward-thinking company, we want to hear from you. Apply today, and we will contact you within 3 working days if your application has been shortlisted.”
