I am currently partnering with an international market leader specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of raised access flooring. They are recognised across the industry as one of the biggest names in their field, delivering high-profile commercial fit out projects throughout the City of London with many of the UK’s leading Tier One main contractors.
Their contracting division generates around £35 million in annual turnover, but what makes this business truly stand out is not its size.
Despite operating on a global scale, they have never lost the culture that made them successful in the first place. They have retained the feel of a family business, where people are treated with respect, trusted to make decisions and encouraged to develop their careers.
Their staff turnover is exceptionally low. In fact, the only time I usually have the opportunity to recruit for them is when somebody retires. That alone says more about the business than any list of benefits ever could.
As their next Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the full commercial lifecycle across prestigious fit out projects, including:
* Procurement of subcontractors and materials
* Pricing and agreeing variations
* Preparing and submitting applications for payment
* Producing monthly CVRs
* Cost reporting and commercial management
* Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
