CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator (Heidenhain)
Location: Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum + Overtime
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
The Role
We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter /Operator to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer supplying high-quality components to sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Medical, Energy and Rail.
Working within a busy machine shop, you will programme, set and operate 3 & 4-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls, producing precision components to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
* Programme, set and operate 3 & 4-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
* Machine components from aluminium, stainless steel, alloy steel, Inconel and titanium.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Write and edit CNC programs.
* Change tooling and complete machine set-ups.
* Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
* Carry out routine machine maintenance.
* Work to strict quality and health & safety standards.
About You
* Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Heidenhain controls.
* Able to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
* Experience producing batch work and complex one-off components.
* Competent using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other inspection equipment.
* Apprenticeship trained or able to demonstrate at least five years' CNC machining experience.
* Good understanding of cutting speeds, feeds and geometric tolerances.
* ISO 9001 experience would be advantageous.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
