NYKays Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting experienced ASD Teaching Assistants for immediate starts. We have day-to-day, long-term, and potential permanent opportunities available across our partner schools.
This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience supporting children or young people with ASD and additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
*
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD and other Special Educational Needs.
*
Support teachers with the delivery of engaging and inclusive learning activities.
*
Assist pupils with personal care where required.
*
Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and emotional well-being.
*
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to meet pupils' individual needs.
*
Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
*
Follow all school policies relating to safeguarding, child protection, behaviour management, and health and safety.
Requirements
*
A minimum of 3 months' experience supporting children or young people with ASD, SEN, or additional learning needs in a school or similar setting.
*
Experience providing 1:1 support for children with additional needs.
*
The ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
*
A caring, patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach.
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*
Reliable, punctual, and committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
*
A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
