Job Opportunity: Qualified Practice Accountant

This client works with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from small owner‑managed businesses to larger SMEs, providing a mix of accounts, tax, and advisory services. They are known for their collaborative culture, strong client relationships, and commitment to professional development.
About the Role
This is a varied and hands‑on position where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality accountancy and tax services, and, if you have experience, supporting audit engagements. Key responsibilities include:
Working on audit engagements from planning to completion, and providing support to juniors where necessary
Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Preparing and submitting personal, partnership, and corporate tax returns
Managing client bookkeeping and reconciliations where required
Advising clients on tax planning and compliance matters
Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide professional guidance
Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent client service
The role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to work closely with clients while being supported by a friendly and approachable team.
RequirementsWho We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional experience
Solid experience preparing accounts and handling tax compliance
Prior audit experience is desirable
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
Confidence in client-facing situations with professional communication skills
Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
