Salary: £50K + car allowance + commission
Summary: A leading international courier is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager, reporting directly to the Sales Manager and will play a pivotal role in expanding/strengthening our market presence in London and the surrounding regions. You'll work in an office environment but will travel during the day for face-to-face meetings with customers and other business partners or to attend conferences, exhibitions or trade shows.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.
Take ownership of the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to closing the sale.
Meet with customers face-to-face or on Teams.
Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
Lead on and support bid-writing and contracts where appropriate.
Have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them.
Liaise with all departments, including operations and finance to on-board customers.
Attend seminars, conferences and events to build your business's network and profile.
Help to plan sales campaigns.
Create a sales pipeline.
Negotiate pricing with customers, and suppliers in some cases.
Support the Sales and Marketing strategy.
Develop a good understanding of our competitors, industry trends and industry commercials. Key Skills / Experience
Commercial awareness.
Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets.
Interpersonal and networking skills for building and developing relationships with customers.
A creative approach to work and seeking out new opportunities.
Written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills.

Teamworking skills and a collaborative approach to work.
Decision-making and critical thinking skills.
