Job Title: SEMH Teacher of English
Location: Stockport

Are you a resilient English Teacher with the confidence to inspire young people with SEMH needs?
Do you have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students who require additional support?
Are you an experienced English Teacher looking to make a real difference within an SEMH alternative provision?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH Alternative Provision in Stockport, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The setting provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment where staff are committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning while promoting confidence, resilience and positive outcomes.
The school is looking to appoint a SEMH Teacher of English on a long-term basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the right SEMH Teacher of English. The successful SEMH Teacher of English will teach English across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons while confidently managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
The successful SEMH Teacher of English will have:
• QTS with an English specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Experience working with students with SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Excellent behaviour management and relationship building skills
• A resilient, patient and positive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
