Here at Carshalton and Merton Colleges, we are seeking a Centre School Administrator to provide administration support to the Head of College Administration and curriculum staff in order to support the effective management and delivery of the curriculum. The role will involve cross-site work, with 2 days a week at Carshalton College and 3 days at Merton College.

You’ll work in a team and liaise with curriculum staff and cross-college services on student and staff matters and manage enquiries and administration tasks relating to courses. You’ll provide effective and flexible support for ad hoc business tasks and events such as those linked to enrolment, progression and admissions within each College.

Reporting to the Head of College Administration, you will focus on attendance follow-up with students and next of kin during the first 42 days of the autumn term and deal with queries from curriculum areas, students, parents and other stakeholders, undertaking correspondence when necessary, and troubleshoot problems.

This role would suit an individual who has experience of providing strong and effective administrative support within a fast-paced environment and who can work effectively under pressure, adhering to strict deadlines. With a high level of computer literacy, you’ll be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be able to build relationships across teams to deliver tasks effectively. We’d also like you to be educated to GCSE/Level 2 including English and Maths.

Experience of working effectively in a curriculum setting is desirable, as is experience of liaising with and supporting students, parents/carers and staff and achieving successful resolutions to enquiries.

Closing date for the return of completed applications is 26th July 2026

Interviews will be held on 14th August at Merton College.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 27 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. This leave is all in addition to Bank Holiday entitlement. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.

As outlined in the Public Sector Equality Duty of the Equality Act 2010, we are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

As part of our due diligence checks on prospective employees, successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, an online search and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
