Duct Fitters Needed***** ( Also looking for Mates)
We are seeking skilled and reliable Duct Fitters. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, and fitting ventilation ductwork for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. The role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, work safely on site, and maintain high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Install and assemble sheet metal and pre-fabricated ductwork systems.
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation plans.
Measure, cut, and fit ductwork to required dimensions.
Install supports, brackets, and hanging systems for ductwork.
Seal duct joints to ensure systems are airtight and compliant with project specifications.
Work alongside HVAC engineers, electricians, plumbers, and other trades to complete installations.
Carry out modifications and repairs to existing ductwork systems.
Ensure all work complies with current health and safety regulations and site procedures.
Use hand tools, power tools, access equipment, and lifting equipment safely.
Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Report any defects, issues, or delays to the site supervisor.
Complete work within agreed timescales while maintaining quality standards.
Skills and Experience Essential
Proven experience as a duct fitter or HVAC installer.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Good understanding of HVAC ductwork installation methods.
Competent in the safe use of hand and power tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heating and Ventilation, Ductwork Installation, or a related trade.
CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
SSSTS or SMSTS (for supervisory responsibilities).
