Now is a really exciting time to join Cobalt Housing, as we build upon the success of significant organisational transformation.

About the role

Are you interested in data protection, privacy and information governance? Do you have the knowledge and experience to ensure information is managed securely, lawfully and effectively? If so, we'd like to hear from you.

We are looking for an Information, Governance and Privacy Officer to join our Governance & Assurance team. This is an opportunity to contribute to Cobalt's compliance framework, manage information governance processes and provide specialist advice across the organisation.

As our Information Governance and Privacy Officer, you will support the organisation to handle information safely, lawfully and responsibly. Reporting to the Data Protection and Information Governance Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring that personal and organisational information is protected and managed in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

The role includes policy development, compliance monitoring, case management, risk assessment and the provision of information governance advice. You will work with teams across the organisation to ensure information risks are identified, managed and reported appropriately.

What we’re looking for

* A relevant data protection or information governance qualification (or willingness to work towards one)

* Experience working in data protection, information governance or a related compliance role

* Good understanding of data protection legislation and regulatory expectations

* Ability to interpret requirements and explain them clearly to others

* Experience responding to information requests such as Subject Access requests, and data protection complaints in line with GDPR

* Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

For the full list of responsibilities and the person specification, please review the full recruitment pack linked below.

Successful applicants are responsible for producing proof of entitlement to work in the UK before employment can commence. Cobalt cannot sponsor candidates without a current visa which allows for full-time UK-based working.

Cobalt Benefits:

* Occupational sick pay

* Paid healthcare scheme via Medicash

* Enhanced maternity/paternity leave

* Gym allowance (up to £20 per month)

* Cycle to work scheme

* Childcare allowance (£75 per child of preschool age)

* Training/development opportunities

* Staff wellbeing programme

* Up to five days dependants leave per year

Our purpose

Everyone deserves somewhere to call home, a place to make their own, feel safe and secure, and set down firm foundations. The right home will help people to live well, realise their potential and achieve the things that are important to them.

Our mission

By providing quality places to live, and support to those who need it, we play our part in developing thriving communities where people are proud to live and can be their best
