SEN Teaching AssistantProvide Education is seeking a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream school in DN37, working with pupils who require additional support to access learning.
This is a full-time, long-term position, supporting pupils within a mainstream classroom environment. The role may involve working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, depending on the needs of the school.
The school has a strong focus on inclusive practice and pupil support, with a collaborative staff team and clear support structures in place, making it an excellent opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a mainstream setting.
SEN Teaching Assistant benefits:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a mainstream school setting
Understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language difficulties
Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to applyThe successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
Adapt learning activities to support different learning styles
Support the class teacher in delivering inclusive lessons
Help manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies
Encourage engagement, independence and confidence
