We are looking to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant on a temporary to permanent basis starting in September. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support students with SEMH needs on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping them to engage with learning and develop positive relationships. This SEND Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team within a specialist setting while building valuable long-term experience. The ideal SEND Teaching Assistant will be confident managing challenging behaviour, promoting positive outcomes, and adapting support to meet individual student needs. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
• At least 6 months' experience working within a UK education setting
• Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting learning
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential
