Join a Growing Engineering Business Delivering Bespoke Process Solutions Girling Jones is partnering with a well-established and rapidly expanding manufacturer specialising in stainless steel process systems for the food and process engineering industries.
Operating from a modern facility in North Devon, the company designs, manufactures and installs bespoke hygienic pipework, process equipment and structural steelwork for major food production sites throughout the UK.
With continued business growth, major project wins and significant investment in a brand-new manufacturing facility, they are now looking to recruit a skilled Coded Pipe Welder to strengthen their workshop team.

The Role
As Coded Pipe Welder, you'll report directly to the Managing Director and play a key role in delivering high-quality fabrication and welding projects. You'll remain hands-on within the workshop, working on bespoke stainless steel process systems used within food manufacturing environments while helping maintain exceptional quality standards.
Your work will include hygienic process pipework, steam systems and associated stainless steel process equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, assemble and weld stainless steel pipework and process systems
Carry out MIG and TIG welding to coded standards
Manufacture hygienic and steam pipework for specialist process applications
Read and interpret P&ID drawings, fabrication drawings and engineering specifications
Complete work in line with quality, compliance and industry standards
Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout production
Work collaboratively with design, project management and installation teams
Maintain a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment
Contribute to continuous improvement and high workshop standards About You
We're keen to hear from experienced Coded Pipe Welders, fabricators or pipework specialists with experience working within hygienic process industries such as food manufacturing, dairy, brewing, pharmaceutical or similar sectors.
You'll ideally have:
Proven experience fabricating and welding stainless steel pipework
Strong MIG and TIG welding skills
Experience working on hygienic process and steam pipe systems
Current coded welding qualifications and certifications
The ability to confidently interpret P&ID drawings
A solid understanding of fabrication drawings and engineering documentation
Previous experience supporting or leading workshop activities
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
A proactive, practical approach with strong problem-solving skills
A commitment to maintaining safe working practices Desirable
