Senior Bid Manager (Municipal Waste)

£-Very attractive salary plus package including company car or car allowance

Our client, a leading waste management operator, is looking to recruit a Senior Bid Manager to join its successful municipal waste team. Based at the company’s Head Office in Northampton and reporting to the Head of Development, you will be responsible for managing bidding activities and teams from initial opportunity assessment through to contract handover.

You will play a fundamental role in developing, negotiating, tendering, agreeing and implementing new and renewed service contracts for municipal collection, streetscene, grounds maintenance, treatment or disposal opportunities through a variety of tender routes as identified in prevalent legislation.

Candidate Requirements:

* Highly educated with a proven track record in similar role demonstrating successful delivery of substantive projects/programmes.

* At least five years’ experience of working in an organisation with a professional and disciplined approach to tendering and project development, preferably within a Waste Management environment. This will include a proven track record in the successful delivery of project development programmes to time, budget and specification.

* Experienced in the preparation of project proposals (technical, financial, and legal) and documentation to a high standard.

* Comprehensive understanding of prevalent procurement legislation and routes to market.

* Good commercial awareness with strong profit orientation. Numerate and financially astute.

* Commitment and determination to meet personal objectives. Strong drive and resilience.

* Proven ability to build strong teams, skilled in delivering measurable results though others.

* Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and develop successful long-term relationships with local authorities and governing bodies.

* Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Please note that this role offers the potential for hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
