Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and ambitious primary school in Paddington from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HLTA or an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to step into a more senior position. The role offers a varied workload, combining whole-class teaching, targeted intervention work and classroom support across the primary phase.
The school is looking for a proactive practitioner who is confident working independently, builds positive relationships with pupils and staff, and can make an immediate impact on teaching and learning.
About the Role
Working alongside teachers and senior leaders, you will:
* Deliver pre-planned lessons during PPA cover and teacher absence
* Lead intervention groups in English and Maths to support pupil progress
* Provide classroom support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 where required
* Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with differing abilities, including those with SEND
* Support assessment through observation and feedback to teaching staff
* Promote positive behaviour and create an engaging learning environment
* Contribute to the wider life of the school and support colleagues as required
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys the variety of working across different year groups while taking on additional responsibility within the classroom.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* HLTA qualification is desirable, although experienced Teaching Assistants with whole-class teaching experience are encouraged to apply
* Previous experience delivering lessons independently within a primary school
* Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly English and Maths
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
* Confident adapting to different year groups and learning needs
* Organised, reliable and committed to a long-term role from September
