ASME Engineering Ltd is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day transactions, and supporting the smooth running of the company's financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping.
* Process purchase and sales invoices.
* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Reconcile bank accounts and company credit cards.
* Process supplier payments and monitor outstanding invoices.
* Prepare VAT returns and assist with HMRC compliance.
* Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
* Maintain the company cashbook and financial records.
* Assist with payroll preparation (if required).
* Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external accountants.
* Ensure all financial information is accurate and up to date.
* Carry out general finance and administrative duties as required.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
* Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
* Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Right to work in the UK
