Sheet Metal Worker - Aerospace

Location: Manchester (East)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:

We are recruiting experienced Sheet Metal Workers to join a well-established aerospace and defence manufacturer at their busy Manchester (East) facility. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-tech engineering environment, producing precision components for aerospace and defence clients.

This role is specifically suited to candidates with an aerospace background, or those with strong experience working with thin gauge aluminium in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture and assemble sheet metal components to tight aerospace tolerances
Read and accurately interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications
Follow in-house routing cards, Standard Operating Procedures, and quality standards
Use calibrated equipment correctly and in line with process requirements
Carry out key sheet metal processes including:
Rubber pressing
Hand forming
Profiling parts after form
Countersinking
Wheeling
Rolling
Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship and attention to detail

Essential Requirements:

Candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Time-served Sheet Metal Worker with direct aerospace manufacturing experience, OR
Strong sheet metal background working with thin gauge aluminium in a high-precision industry (e.g. aerospace, defence, medical, pharmaceutical)In addition, all candidates must have:

Proven ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings
Experience working to strict quality and compliance standards
A strong commitment to safe working practices and 5S principlesThis role is not suitable for candidates without aerospace or aluminium precision experience.

Working Hours:

Standard hours are 36 hours per week, compressed into a four-day working week (Monday-Thursday)
Overtime available
